A little about me…Improving the value of legal services is my
Working with large and smaller firms, practice groups, clients, in-house legal
operations professionals and lawyers, as well as non-traditional legal
service providers, I draw on my 20+ years of practicing law and as an
experienced consultant to drive outstanding economic results, and enhance the
client experience through effective law practice.
As an active participant in
legal industry standard-setting and peer organizations such as the ACC, CLOC
and the ABA, my goal is to bridge the chasm that often exists between clients
and their external counsel about ways in which to optimize the value of legal
services. I have been recognized by organizations that seek to inspire
excellence and innovation in law practice management, as a Fellow of the College

I am the co-author of several books, Implementing
Legal Project Management: The Legal Professional’s Guide to Success,and
two guidebooks on creating good data to provide the foundation for pricing,
process improvement, profitability, and project management, Legal Value
Track, and Best Practices on using UTBMS Codes for Merger and

client service delivery through proven business methodologies: project
management, managing change, process improvement, data analytics, knowledge
management, and sourcing.
I have helped lawyers apply
these disciplines to substantive law practice areas such as: commercial, toxic
tort and IP litigation; mergers and acquisitions; corporate governance;
industry regulation; trusts and estates; real estate leasing and sales;
and environmental and energy law; as well work that spans specialties such as
due diligence, e-discovery, contracting, and compliance operations.
I started my consulting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in New
York City. I am a graduate of Columbia Business School, and Cornell Law School,
where I was managing editor of the Cornell Law Review. I am a Phi Beta
Kappa graduate of Stony Brook University (NY). As a transplant from
Manhattan, I live the rural life in Kinderhook, NY, a historical agricultural
community, in my free time.
